Lilly Shi leads Kauri’s market assessment team. She is responsible for identifying land with high conversion and production potentials, to meet current and future global demands.
Being passionate about sustainable agriculture, Lilly studied at the University of Waikato and worked in a leading agriculture-focused law firm in the Waikato area, advising a diverse range of New Zealand agri-businesses. Her areas of expertise include syndication, acquisitions and primary sector export. She has a clear understanding of the agri-business value chain and has worked with businesses to vertically integrate their systems to provide end to end solutions, from producer to consumer. She has also worked closely with local and overseas industry regulators and understands policy drivers directly affecting demands for production and producers’ revenue.
Lilly’s wide network in the agriculture sectors outside of New Zealand brings a unique global perspective to New Zealand farmers. She is the current co-chair of the CANZBC, an active member of the Dairy Association of China, and co-founder of a New Zealand dairy product company. Lilly regularly hosts forums on sustainable dairying and agriculture, and is frequently invited to speak at international conferences on organic food production.
